This encyclopedia is wonderful for a wrestling fan. I could not think of any wrestler in WWE history that was not included in book. There is an article for everyone. But, it is written just like a wrestling magazine. No real names, no real history or biography. It is all Kayfabe, and seldom mentions a wrestlers other personality/gimmick outside of the WWE.

It covers a lot of WWF's wrestlers and it stays in kayfabe but I wish it was more expansive with specific stories about certain stars. If it was their goal not to break kayfabe, it was acheived but at the cost of leaving out some very interesting stories. Also they go into great kayfabe detail about certain stars but not others that deserve it. Definitely some strong WWF (I will never say it with an E) propaganda but it does serve as a quality coffee table book if you are not embarrassed to be a wrestling fan.

Awesome must have for avid and casual fans alike. While this one is mainly an "in kayfabe" encyclopedia, it's done well with great pictures. So many pictures. It's really cool to hang out with my son's and show them the wrestlers I watched at their age. Very up to date as of eary summer 2016. I'd like to see a mainly insider version with their real names and greater accomplishments but understand WWE would never attempt to hinder the "suspensuon of disbelief" that except booking Roman Reigns to no-sell every finisher done to him.

This book literally has just about everything WWE & the fans can think of. It is well written & included some things I didn't expect they would put into the book. WWE did make me laugh (in a good way) about having a section for each separate gimmick a wrestler has had (like Kane/Issac Yankem, or JBL/Bradshaw) fun!

This is a beautifully produced volume covering a huge number of wrestlers from the last sixty years. There are some in depth entries on the superstars, and smaller entries on almost everyone else. Everything is 'in character', and brings back so many memories of great matches and rivalries. There are also entries for earlier federations that are now part of WWE, and entries for various title and their holders. A must for any wrestling fan

Amazing. Contains a bio on literally every superstar to step foot in a WWE ring (& WCW/NWA/NXT). Each wrestler has a small bio listing their career accomplishments and Kayfabe (storyline) accomplishments. Each of the organizations previously mentioned & legendary characters have more elaborate 1-2 page bio's. probably more reading material than I could ever read in my life. Includes full lineage of championship reigns for every existing WWE belt, multiple factions/tag-teams, & illustraions for almost every single wrestler in the history of American professional wrestling. Great deal.

My guy was pleasantly surprised with this gift. He is a huge WWE fan & didn’t even know this existed! It is now proudly displayed on our bookshelf.

Bought for a Christmas gift for my son. He is going to live it.

About the Author
Sabrina Carter is a 37 year old wife and mother who currently resides in Englewood, NJ with her husband, Elliot and two children, Taylor and Joshua. Born in Maryland, the younger of two girls to a single mother, she can remember writing as early as the age of eleven when most of her writing was filled with thoughts of her mother and a longing desire for a father she would never know. In 1991 she graduated Valedictorian from DuVal High School. She went on to attend Rutgers University where she received her bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering. Over the next fourteen years she would put her love of writing aside as she pursued her career in technology sales and consulting. Sabrina began to explore writing again in 2002 as a hobby, but her passion for it was reignited in 2004 by an incident her daughter experienced. Over the next eighteen months Sabrina and her husband would convert a special poem written for their daughter into the book, My Hair is Curly , the story of a beautiful little girl with curly hair, gray eyes and a magical wish. The main character, Sidney, is based on her daughter Taylor. Both Taylor and Joshua have become an active part of their mothers writing giving her ideas for books and poems as well as providing feedback on works in progress. Her most recent book, Please Don't Yell at We is a fun story that brings to life the innocence in everything little children do and the reality of being a parent who sometimes forgets that children get dirty, make messes, break things and get boo boos. In 2006 Sabrina started her company, Baby Ellington, LLC which focuses on providing educational and enrichment resources for children.

Taking Alice Walker's definition of "womanist" as a framework, in Part I, "Responsible, in Charge", Clarice J. Martin explores "If God exists, why is there evil?"; Frances E. Wood shows how Christianity's idealization of suffering has harmed African-American women; and Jamie T. Phelps recounts the historic exclusion of African-American women - and men - in the Roman Catholic church. Part II, "It Wouldn't Be the First Time", includes Marcia Y. Riggs on the 19th century Black club women's response to moral evil; Emilie M. Townes on a womanist ethic based on the example of Ida B. Wells-Barrett; and Rosita deAnn Mathews on the role of chaplain-clergyperson as priest, prophet, and employee. Part III, "Love's the Spirit", includes M.
